Diamond Chapter

Cycles-N- Rodz Car and Motorcycle Show

The Diamond Chapter had 10 bikes on display. Chapter members Greg Bright, Mike Parker, Butch Jones and Mike Thomson brought bikes to show.

The antique motorcycles were displayed on the hill with bikes to be judged displayed in the parking lot. Motorcycle Classes were American and Metric. My Triumph Hurricane, made in England, was placed in the metric bikes. Not quite sure how that worked.

Several cars were on display. Room was limited so some cars were displayed on the hill, some in the lot below, and some in the main lot. There were some really beautiful cars.

Food was served by Smokin' in Style. A Bar B Q sandwich, bag of chips, and a drink was $4.00. You got more than your monies worth and the Bar B Q was excellent.

All and all it was a fun day and a good show. Awards were handed out around 2:00 pm.

Diamond Chapter meeting was held after trophies were awarded. See minutes for more details.

Scott Byrd On the Cannonball Run

Scott Byrd was interviewed about his experience on the cannonball run by Beth Bright for The Sentinel Record. The article was in the November 9th paper. I think you can get a copy at the Sentinel Record office. It was a very interesting piece and what a great adventure. Scott did finish the race that went from Daytona Beach Fla. to Tacoma, Wash. It was done in 17 days and went 3,938 miles. Lots of things happened like having to replace his engine and the duck tape saved the day.

Congratulations to Scott for a great race and representing Arkansas.

Bike of the Month

Mike Parker's Custom Yamaha

Quote of the Month

"My motorcycle is the fountain of youth,
I started riding in the fall of 1966 and now at 65 years old, when I'm on the bike it's the exact same feeling as when
I was 18 years old, nothing has changed (except I have a better bike). It's the only thing that has not changed.

Want to feel young again?

Ride your bike !!"

~ Mike Parker ~

Closing Comments

Winter is here and it has snowed already. Not much riding coming up, so catch up on repairs so we can ride in the spring.

See you at the ABATE Toy Run.
