8th Annual Antique Motorcycles in the Park
What a great show, one of the best yet. A very different kind of show this year. For the first time the show had more Japanese and British bikes than American Made motorcycles.
We had a total of 102 motorcycles and one sno rabbit on display. Several last minute entries and ride ins.
Buddy and Chris Muirhead brought their 1923 Ner-A-Car, the oldest bike on display. Buddy loves to start up the Ner-A- Car and talk about it all day. Buddy turned 87 this year. Happy Birthday and many more.
Lanny from Cycles-N-Rodz brought a few old race bikes that were Richard Ennis's. The 1954 Harley Davidson KH flat tracker sounded so cool. Thanks Cycles-N-Rodz for bring the bikes and letting Lannie have the day off. I am sure Lanny enjoyed the show.
James Sandage brought 13 bikes including several simplex's, mustang, cushmans,and a 1958 Nimbus. The Nimbus was the center of attention when he fired it up.Very cool to watch it run. Thanks James.
The North Texas Norton Association arrived in style riding in on sixteen British Motorcycles. They also set up their tent to display the bikes. They road in from Mena, AR for the show and will be riding all over Arkansas. Some of the riders were from California. They all had a great time. Thanks to the NTNOA for coming to the show.
Scott Byrd brought a 1957 Harley Sportster, a 1929 Harley, and his Cannon Ball rider , work in progress Harley, for the 2016 Cannon Ball Run. He had a great time talking about his Cannon Ball Ride adventures. Thanks Scott.
Also a special thanks to my good friends Randy and Cathy Bauer. Randy was a great help at the show and Cathy helped Susie all day at the tent.
Several people brought many bikes, some road in but most trailered in more than one bike. The show officially started at 9:00 and we started breaking down around 5:00. The weather could not have been better. Susie Parker and Cathy Bauer worked one end of the show and Greg and Linda Bright worked the other end. They handed out State ride guides and sold posters. We had five new member join the club.
It was a fantastic show and a big thanks to all who brought bikes to display. A big thanks to Steve Arrison and city of Hot Springs. The Hot Springs Rally was the largest in a few years. Fun was had by all. See you next year.
